How to realize a motor system identification using simulink

Now I have built a simulink model of dc motor ( many motor parameters are unknowing),I want to deal with simulation output and experiment output with least-square algorithm, and then use the genetic algorithm to optimize motor parameters .Is my approach reasonable?How can I achieve it?I don't have a concrete method , I hope you can give me some advice,thanks.
