symbolic math undefined function

Symbolic Math syntax is not working. The following errors are coming in system. >> syms a t x y >> r = x^2 + y^2 Undefined function 'plus' for input arguments of type 'sym'. Symbolic math is installed and licensed in my system Kindly help me in this matter

Dear Jomichan,
Check that you don't have script or file name plus in your current folder.
I think, this could be reason.
