Hello,
i have written a program in Matlab. Now i want to create an executable with "deploytool" to run the program on different computers without installed Matlab.
After compiling the program i can start the executable and it works fine, but only on the PC from where i compiled it (on all computers with a installed Matlab version). But it does not work at the target computer with installed Matlab Compiler Runtime (Version 8.4 32 Bit). The compiling Matlab version is version 8.4 (R2014b) 32 Bit. Application Compiler is version 5.2.
After starting the program on the target computer it shows the typical default icon. After a few minutes it quits without any error message.
I did not find any hint what can cause such a different behaviour of the executable depending on the computer.
Thank you very much for your efforts.

What message do you see when you run the executable from a Windows Command Prompt (or some type of terminal window if you're using Linux or Mac)?

Sorry for my late answer to your suggestion. I did not expect a rapid response.
The output of the console was an error message. It pointed out to me that i try to add a path in my startup.m. The user on target computer does not have permission for that path. So that was the error.
I thank you very much for the hint with the command console.

Based on the comment you provided, you may want to guard the code that adds the path in your startup using the isdeployed function.

My workaround was to comment out the addpath commands during compiling the code. But your suggestion is way better. Thank you very much
