Hello Guys ,
I have a desktop which has following config
  • Intel core 2 duo # Ghz
  • 4 GB RAm
  • Hard drive 250 GB
What I would like to know is, if this system is enuf to operate Matlab 2016. I know for many of you this Question might be too broad as I might not have listed requirements very well. I plan to use Matlab/simulink and simmac for controls ,essentially to model for rasberry pi 3. I just want to make sure with this config my desktop should not get overloaded and start dumping in virtual RAM which makes system slow to respond . I have Matlab 2010 which works fine no slow response or anything . Please pardon me if my question / requirement is to generic .

Is that "simmac" or "simac" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l84XlGtHGhk ?
My suspicion is that you need more RAM to be comfortable with that combination of software. Operating system would matter, as would what other programs you are running at the same time (e.g., anti-virus)

Walter, Thanks for replying . Its a typo should be simac. I can add more RAM to it if needed , but I was more concerned about using Inter core 2 Duo as we have more advance technologies like i3,i5,i7. Also hardware requirement mentioned on Matlab website is to have atleast 4 RAM. I just don't want to buy Matlab 2016 to find out my prcoessor cannot handle Matlab 2016.
Thanks a lot.

The Core 2 Duo should be enough. Some of the newer CPUs might be more efficient.
You could ask for a trial of R2016a.
