Connect Phone to Matlab using USB or Bluetooth

Hey guys,

Does anyone know of a way to collect GPS data from a phone using a USB cord or Bluetooth?

I am trying to collect GPS data from an android / iPhone without the need of cell service because this data will be collected in fairly remote locations and needs to be very reliable, so I'd rather remove the chance of the cellphone losing service and being unable to send the data to the computer.

Bluetooth communication requires the Instrument Control Toolbox.
