SLCG passmanager failed to execute 'coder.Tra​nsform.opt​imizeAndEm​itCodePhas​e1'

Trying to generate code from my Simulink model I get the error message "SLCG passmanager failed to execute 'coder.Transform.optimizeAndEmitCodePhase1'" . What does this mean? I am using a trial version of Matlab R2016a.

Technical Support resolved this issue together with the user by resetting the path and the toolbox cache.
