zero order delay in matlab

is there a zero order delay function like Delay(inputVariable,DelayTime) in matlab, that can be used in ODEs eg. ode45? I do not want to use simulink.

I have no experience with delay differential equations, so I refer you to the dde23 function and its friends for you to experiment with. They are core MATLAB functions, so no special Toolboxes are needed.
