LaTeX interpreter in box plot

Is there any way to use LaTeX as Interpreter for labels in boxplot()?

It's still a problem in matlab 2019b.
This does not works:
set(groot,'defaultAxesTickLabelInterpreter','latex');
But adding this directly after boxplot() (however?) works:
set(gca,'TickLabelInterpreter','latex');
