Stateflow making simulation slow

Hi, I am running simulink model for running a Simulation with another software(SIL). When simulation is running if I open the Stateflow chart the simulation slows down drastically and as soon I close the stateflow chart it speeds up again. Is there a reason why does this happen and how can we fix it?

When a Stateflow chart is open it will animate with some delay. In the latest versions, you can select "Simulation > Stateflow animation" and change it to "none". Then, having the chart open won't have any effect.
