Add "Author" to my "Watch List"

Dear MathWorks admins, In the oldest days of "File Exchange" community profile, I have the ability to add the "Author" type into my "Watch List".

But this is removed. Only the ability for Watch List is adding a "File" and track the File...

Please help me to add the "author" into my watch list. Because, "Author" activity is more important track option for specific domain (like the newest progress in image processing). The most valuable/important Authors put important algorithmic contributions into Mathworks, we dont want to miss them.

This forum is not thought for a communication with the Mathworks support teams - at least as far as I understood.

I did not had any success with the watch lists yet. I did not get regular notifications neither for authors nor for files on my watch list. In the last 14 years it happend only 2 or 3 times, that I received these messages, but then several identical on the same day. So I gave up a long time ago to use this mechanism. Does it work for anybody else?

For some reason, I get notifications for MOST of my files on the FEX, but not all, and I am confident that I set them all up as something to be watched.

As far as authors go, no, I don't think you can put them in a watch-list.

1. FOR Dear Jan Simon, a. You said "This forum is not thought for communication with Mathworks support" ??? When I send this question to the forum I used "Mathworks Support" tag !!!

b. I thought "did not get regular notification" or "does it work for anybody else" depends only for your account. When FEX file is changed or someone makes comment, notification is immediately e-mailed me. Watchlist is very useful tool for me.

2. FOR Dear John D'Errico, Thank you for kindness and polite answer. I have already been watching authors individual FEX files. Hence, I have added two authors (many years ago), I needed to use this option again.

What you need to understand is that there is NO presumption that TMW employees will see or read your question, despite the tag you chose. Yes, sometimes they do look in, but they would be doing so randomly.

So if you have a reasonable idea for web site improvement, you should send that idea to the MATLAB central staff.

Site improvements for MATLAB Central can also be posted in http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/233928-matlab-answers-wish-list-4-and-bug-reports . Sometimes someone from Mathworks even reads what is there. No promises though.

The people who answer questions here are all volunteers (except that occasionally Mathworks posts both a question and an official answer to it.) Some of the volunteers work for Mathworks; most of them do not. Out of the 50 most active recent volunteers, I count only 4 who work for Mathworks (some of the Mathworks employees who previously volunteered no long do so actively.)

Anyhow, if there is something that definitely needs the attention of Mathworks, then this is not the right venue for bringing it to their attention.

I'm glad to hear, that the watch list feature works for others. Then I'll try to find the problem with my account again.
