Problem on HeatMap Labels

I want to do the following things

HeatMap(k1.data,'RowLabels',k1.textdata(2:end,1),... 'ColumnLabels',k1.textdata(1,2:end))

where k1 is a textdata set. columnlabels are display in HeatMap but Rowlabels are not displayed. Why it is not displyed? Plz give me your valuable solution to display also the Rowlabels in the HeatMap. suppose in k1 textfile first row contains subject & first column contains student name. Plz anyone help me. I am in deep trouble.
