using of tables for questionnaire answers

I have to analyse the answer of a questionnaire. There are more than 250 questions. Of course not everybody replies all the questions, only the ones related with some subjects they have to choose at the beginning. I have several questions: 1. Are tables the best data type for managing the replies? Are structure o cells better? How can I do the best data type selection? 2. Most of the answers are single values but others can see as matrices, for example, for different areas, tip Yes/No/NA if you are using these different equipments. When I store this within the table, it increases the size too much. 3. For the general analysis I have grouped some replies (as in your example, with the Systolic/Diastolic variables). Is there any way of de-grouping the variables? Thank you in advance,

Marta, you should provide a short example of your data so that it's clear what you have.

I am analysing labs regarding 13 activities. 3 of them are: Distribution Automation, Grid Management and Storage. For each area of activity I have several questions, some of them are displayed as tables (matrices). See the attached file. I started to store all the replies as a table, but I don't know if it is the most convenient format. Some characteristics of the survey are: - We have more than 240 questions. There are some general questions at the beginning (as the one in the example) and other are particular questions for each area of activity. So, not all the labs reply to all the questions. After checking the consistency of the replies, I would like to analysis in a deeper way the replies regarding the different areas of activity or doing comparisons between two areas of activities.
