This error occurs when your MATLAB Parallel Server cluster is configured to use Online Licensing, but the MathWorks Account which you are signed into in MATLAB is not linked to a MATLAB Parallel Server license or trial which is set to "Online Licensing".
Note: trials are release-specific but licenses are backwards-compatible with older releases.
MATLAB Parallel Server licenses can be toggled between the modes of "Online Licensing" or "Network License Manager" by a License Administrator.
MATLAB Parallel Server trials can be generated as either "Online Licensing" or "Network License Manager" but they cannot be modified.
The only exception is Campus-wide Licenses for MATLAB Parallel Server which support both "Online Licensing" and "Network License Manager" simultaneously.

As a workaround, the MathWorks account must be added as a License End User on the MATLAB Parallel Server license by a License Administrator in MathWorks License Center, and the user must be signed in to MATLAB using the correct MathWorks account when validating the cluster.
