Hello,
I'm going to introduce model based design in my company and I'm planning to switch to AUTOSAR as soon as possible. I believe it would be beneficial to start immediately with developing models using Embedded Coder and AUTOSAR support, however, I won't have immediate access to a AUTOSAR tool such as SystemDesk or DaVinci. This means I won't be able to generate the Run Time Environment... In your experience, is there a drawback with starting early with AUTOSAR? In other words, do you think the amount of work required to make things work without RTE, at least in the beginning, will be less than that required for converting models to AUTOSAR once RTE generator is available?
Thanks in advance for your help,
Danny

Hi Danny,
I am not an expert on this but let me share my learning on your question. In general there is no drawback as such starting immediately with AUTOSAR but unavailability of RTE stubs will make Software testing a little tricky and might consume lot of efforts for writing it manually. In the other case, once Model is designed (w/o AUTOSAR) it can be easily tested using the S-Function interface. Later it can be easily converted to AUTOSAR using the support package provided by mathworks. It will be an ad on advantage from learning point of view to see the contrast between both the codes.
