How do i remove all the open contours

In the picture attached, I have used canny edge detection I wanna get rid of those lines and open contours and want to retain only the small balls, closed contours how do i do it I am really desperate to do this please help me

I have attached a image here I would like to find the three small closed contour and remove the lines. I have to do this for 8 more pictures so I will be using a for loops

the above CONTOUR LINES.fig is the result after I have used edge detection I want to know how to get the three ball like figure and remove all the unwanted open contoured lines. The big circle need not to be removed

if you think i've used the wrong edging method I can show you a pic before I used the edge method, maybe you can tell me the appropriate way
