GA for binary variables

Could please any one helps me on how I can define the variables type in genetic algorithm, as I am considering an optimization problem of binary variables. also please i would like to know how i can tune the parameters of GA; like size of population, number of generation, ... etc.

please if any one can show me an example of GA code for binary variables.
