Detecting the water depth in the channel through the transparent side wall

Hey you guys,

Propably, I have a rather simple task of edge detection but I struggle with some obstacles of image quality in my segmentation process. I would like to detect the water line as well as the bottom of the channel and calculate the water depth. Inspirationwise, I added an image of how I would like my results to turn out.

I have a couple problems sith my certain case because the exerimental set up is not optimal.

1. the image quality is bad. Unfortunately, I don't have access to a better camera, so I have to work with that.
2. The wtaer is turbulent with many bubbles and blur and the background is noisy.
3. outside of the channel, there is water as well which causes unwanted reflections

Anyone with expertise of segementation of seethrough water ... ?
