I want a way to write a code to find the neigbors of a 50 x 50 matrix

Suppose we use a smaller example, to understand your question. Here is a 5x5 matrix:

M = magic(5)
M = 5×5
  24     1     8    15
   5     7    14    16
   6    13    20    22
  12    19    21     3
  18    25     2     9

What do you mean by "the neighbors"? What exactly would the input and output be for your problem?
