How to extract the region of interest from the image????

Hi,

I am working of segmentation of hippocampus,but i got a area which is below the hippocampus when i used the segmentation technique,because it has the same intensity as that of hippocampus.I want to calculate the volume of hippocampus of the extracted hippocampus ,so i want to delete the unwanted area which is extracted..Can any one help me in this regard.I have attached the extracted image which i got..

Here you want to extract the region of interest from the image (still image) or what? If from image and it's a grayscal image you can use my code but in my code I only use a free hand extract: Clic here

Thank you for the answer,but this code is not suitable for my application.it would be helpful if i get to know the required changes i need to make in the code.i have attached the image on which i want to extract the region.
