Cannot export plots from SimBiology Model Analyzer

Dear all,
I almost cannot export plots of a simulation programme from SimBiology Model Analyzer. I only succeeded several times just when plots were newly created and no other data was dragged in them. However, I can export plots of a fit programme. My MATLAB version is '9.12.0.2039608 (R2022a) Update 5', which was updated from 2020a several days ago.
Does anyne know how to solve it? Thanks

Hello Wei,
Thank you for reaching out to us! I have not been able to reproduce the export issue you are seeing, I am able to export all plots containing simulation results + other data. Can you describe the exact workflow/steps that leads to the export failure? May I also ask which operating system are you using? And would you be able to share your SimBiology project? Please contact MathWorks Technical Support if you cannot share this information publicly on MATLAB Answers.
Thank you,
Florian
Hello, Florian,
Sorry I respond you late.
I have contacted MathWorks Technical Support and upload my project file, the Case Number is 05738464. As for workflow/steps, I just run a simulation and right click the generated figure and select Export Plot, so I think no other details I can provide. I am using Windows 10 as the operating system. Can updating MATLAB to 2022b fix this?
Thanks for your help.
Wei Wang
I possibly find out what things going wrong.
I like to input observed data for comparison between simulation and observation. If I creat a new set for observed data and choose "Line style" to discriminate them, the two sets are drawn in one figure and this figure cannot be exported. However, if I choose "Vertical" to discriminate sets, they are drawn in separate figures and this plot can be exported. I also can use the Explore to creat a Scenarios to export all data in one figure, but the resulted legend would be separated into two parts, not a combined one.
Hello, Wei,
I am sorry that you are having trouble exporting your plots. Thank you for the detailed reproduction steps; I am able to reproduce the issue and we will fix this bug in future general/update releases. In the meanwhile, one possible workaround might be to use "linestyle" to differentiate your different individual responses and use a different visual channel for the sets (this bug appears to be triggered only when linestyle is used for response sets, not for any other response or any covariate variable).
Thank you for contacting us about this issue.
Priya
Wei,
Just wanted to let you know that this bug has been fixed in R2023a.
Best,
Priya
Hello, just wanted to follow up saying I am continuing to experience this problem in R2023a
Hi, I wanted to add on what Kavan experienced, I'm also experiencing the same problem. It happened in 2021 so I updated to R2023a and experienced the same bugs. Thanks
Hi, Kavan and Ajay,
I'm sorry that you are still running into issues with plot export in R2023a. I am not able to reproduce the original bug that Wei reported, specifically being unable to export plots that use linestyle to differentiate between response sets. Would you be able to provide reproduction steps for the issue that you are encountering, so that I can investigate further? It would helpful to know what data you are plotting (program simulation data, imported table data, etc.) and what settings you are using in the "Slice Data" section of the Property Editor.
Thank you,
Priya
Hi Priya, my error was exporting simulation plots from the model analyzer, not the direct simbio plot. Thanks
Hi, Ajay,
Could you share the Property Editor "Slice Data" section settings for the simluation plot you are not able to export from the Model Analyzer, and any error message that you saw?
If you are able to share the project with the erroring plot, I can also investigate from there.
Thanks,
Priya
Hi, Priya,
I updated to the 2023a version and found this bug for me was fixed at least. Thanks for your work.
Best,
Wei Wang
Thank you for reporting the bug, Wei!
Hi, Ajay & Kavan,
I was able to reproduce the bug you described, and it has been fixed in R2023a Update 3.
Best,
Priya
