Temperature distribution using Gaussian distribution

Hi all,

I have an important task to do. I am new to matlab coding. I have a rectangular cross-sectional plate. I need to create meshing in it and when electron beam is passed over the plate at a particular point there occurs a temperature distribution through out the cross-section. The distribution occurs through gaussian distribution. Could you please help me to formulate the code for it or how to start the process. Thanks a ton.
