different version of Matlab open same code issue

I installed R2011b version recently. I have been using R2007b and all my code work perfect. what I noticed with R2011b is: after I open my code or run my code with R2011b, it does not run in R2007b any more.

I also notice that for large m-file, it is extremely slow for editing with R2011b. In R2007b, it is smooth and quick. is there any feature in the background I can disable to increase the speed?

the most annoying part is my handle to image overview panel's image is completely lost even though I have stored it in a structure data.

I remember a post of a slow editor in R2011b a couple of days ago. Lets if if we can find it.

As for the compatibility issue. Do you store the code for R2011b and R2007b in the same location? Then you may have saved code in R2011b and R2007b has problems with backwards compatibility. If this is the cas, I first recommend, that you load the R2007b from your backup system and keep it exectuable as a kind of archive and don't touch it.
