How to measure the speed for real time closed loop control of induction motor with embedded coder and C2000 TMS320F28379D Launch pad?

I am trying to real time implement closed loop control of Induction motor using Embedded coder and TMS320F28379D Launch Pad and I need to measure the actual speed of motor. For That purpose i have used two blocks eQEP from Embedded Coder Support Package for Texas Instruments C2000 Processors / F2837xD and C2000 Speed measurement block from Embedded Coder® Support Package for Texas Instruments™ C2000™ Processors/ Optimization/ C28x DMC. I have used output of eQEP block that is direction flag(qdf) and rotor position (qposcnt) as the input to the C2000 speed measurement block. The maximum position counter value is equal to 65535. but i cant obtain speed properly. Please help me to to solve this problem.
