Is Simulink Coder still required to compile the Simulink model to run it on some hardware (raspberry pi)?

I am responding by pointing to this website. On the right, there is a list of MathWorks requirements and the description sounds pretty clear to me you only need MATLAB and Simulink and it is supported with home license.

However, the Simulink Coder is listed under recommended products, so it looks there are applications where it makes sense to have it and some not. Probably you should describe the application you plan in more detail or trial it.

I hope my understanding is right: If I want to compile for some supported hardware like Arduino or Raspberry Pi, I don't need the Simulink Embedded Coder. But if I want to compile for some unsupported board, I do need additional toolboxes.
