Hello everyone, I want to use my National instruments USB 6009 DAQ with matlab(student version), but only the legacy interface is supported as of DAQ toolbox ver 2.18. Which is the latest version available to students. To use this Legacy interface, though, you need 32 bit matlab. Problem is i have a 64 bit laptop.
Bottom line is can i run 32 bit matlab 2011a on a 64 bit windows 7 laptop? with real time windows target supported
I know 2010b can do this, but with some major drawbacks. Such as, "Real-Time Windows Target will not run"- http://www.mathworks.com/support/solutions/en/data/1-1CAT7/
Thank you for any help.

The technical solution that you mention is still true in R2011a , R2011b. You can also verify this in this link: Platform/Version Availability for Current MathWorks Release
Real-Time Windows Target 3.8 Available on 32-bit Windows only

Though in theory the compatibility requirements can be different for the Student Version.
