How can I see Matlab graphically using SSH from Mac?

I have a work computer that I am using matlab on from my personal mac. I ssh into the computer, but when I open matlab, it just appears in my mac terminal instead of the normal graphical display I would get from normally booting laptop. Is there a way to get matlab to render using the mac terminal thorugh ssh? I do ssh -X to access the remote computer
