MATLAB server and Android Client socket connection

I am trying to send a text from an android client to a MATLAB server. I am picking up ideas from here and client . However as soon as I launch the Client on my android device it says; client connected x=
Empty matrix: 1-by-0
It doesn't display my text! I also tried the new support package for android(MATLAB2014a), but it doesn't seem to work the way I want. It basically runs an already developed SIMULINK model on the android device, thereby not giving the possibility of typing in a message on cell phone to send using SAMSUNG UDP receive blocks.

I am not sure if this is what you are looking for. However, Simulink Support Package for Samsung GALAXY Android Devices provides ' FromApp' and ' ToApp' blocks that can be used to exchange data between the running app and Simulink. The method you specify in the FromApp/ToApp block masks will be invoked at each Simulink step.
