I am using mcc to convert one of my m files to a executable in Ubuntu 13.04. I had faced some issues with insufficient write permissions but I have solved that problem. I can't find the solution to the following problem at all.
Begin validation of MEX files: Mon Apr 7 17:46:36 2014
End validation of MEX files: Mon Apr 7 17:46:36 2014
Internal error: Zero length license information.
Error using mcc
Error executing mcc, return status = 1 (0x1).
has anyone faced this error before?

It is important to know about the release. As I wrote in another post if it is R2012b, the best known workaround is to reinstall MATLAB R2012b without the Signal Processing Toolbox. The toolbox can be added separately later after installation. This should help to resolve the issue.
Please consider instaling the highest supported release for your operating system.

It actually seems that only R2013b and R2014a are supported on Ubuntu 13.04

I'm also seeing this same problem with R2014a on Mac OS X 10.9.4
I also need the Signal Processing toolbox, and it is annoying to have to perform witchcraft such as deinstalling it and reinstalling. If this is a bug, please can we have a kludge-free fix? Thanks.

I'm getting the same error with R2014a on Mac OS X 10.8.5.
Is there a fix for this, aside from removing the Signal Processing toolbox, which I need?
