Edit text box callback not triggered when clicked to toolbar

The title is quite explanatory. When i click away from the edit text to the GUI (except the toolbar), callback is triggered. When i click the toolbar (or even a push tool), the callback is not triggered. Is it a bug or a nature? How could this be bypassed?
