nonlinear heat transfer in a thin plate - error help

I am trying to implement your pde example " Nonlinear heat transfer in a thin plate". Each time i run i get the following error " error using max, function "max" not defined for values of class function_handle".

Could you please advise what could be the problem?

I am not sure that I understand you. If you have PDE Toolbox, you can enter

 edit heatTransferThinPlateExample

This brings up the code for the example, which runs without error.

This example works only in R2012b (or newer) versions of MATLAB. If you are using one of these versions, please post the full error message you get.
