The desktop configuration was not saved successfully

So what's this? MATLAB burps this every few minutes or so during idle moments. I'm perfectly happy with the default desktop - I haven't sought to make any changes. What do I need to do to get rid of this annoying, repetitious blabber in my Command Window?
