axesm-Based Maps
Maps defined by map projection structures
An axesm-based map is a Cartesian axes object
that is configured for map display. An axesm-based
map uses a map projection structure to store
properties that control the map projection, frame, grid, and
labels.
Alternatives to 2-D axesm-based maps are
geographic axes and map axes, which can be used for many tasks,
including exploration, publication, and app building. For a comparison
of the 2-D map displays that you can create using Mapping Toolbox™ software, see Choose a 2-D Map Display.
