Define density. Isn't it just the pixel value, like
pixelValue = grayImage(row, column);
Please see my image segmentation tutorial and other demos: http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/?term=authorid%3A31862
And what does parzen (your tag) have to do with anything?

thanks for ur help.. i have to do superpixel segmentation .. can u help me??
Maybe, if it doesn't take too much of my time. Obviously I can't do extensive consulting but if it's 5 minutes or less, then I might be able to help.
Hi Image Analyst,
Does finding the MEAN value of the image corresponds to the PIXELVALUE?
No, in my code above pixelValue is just the gray level at (row, column) location (just one pixel), not the mean gray level over all pixels in the entire image.

I am not sure what you mean, but if it is the intensity of a pixel, you can access that as follows:
intensity=yourimage(50,60);
gives you the intensity of pixel 50,60 in 'yourimage'.
If you want to know the pixel density of your image, you need to know the number of pixels in your image along each dimension and the 'real' size of your image along each dimension.
