how to convert Julian date to Gregorian date ?

i know,

' gregorian date -> julian date ' : use 'datenum'

Use datestr

it works but it gave me incorrect result... what's the problem ? I mean when I convert gregorian to julian and then convert back it does not give me the same gregorian date...
