Force to reconnect to licence server

Our licence server is on different network segement than our internet of things gadgets. When we are running tests programms, we need to switch of connection to the licencing server. When we reconnect to the network with server the server seems not to recognize us comming back. Is there a work around to tell the server to reconnect when we are back on the network?
