How to display the legend NOT superimposing the plotted functions?

I am currently exporting figures to Word files. However, the legend is often superimposing the plotted functions, which masks a part of them. Does anyone know a simple way to avoid this problem?

set the location of the legend to a location outside the figure, depending on what you prefer Norhtoutside, Southoutside, NorthEastOutside, ...
