What compiler can I use in Windows 8.1 for Matlab R2013a in order to run MEX function?

I have already installed the SDK and Visual Studio 2012 as recommended in Mathworks website, however, when I run the MEX function, I get the following error:

No supported SDK or compiler was found on this computer. For a list of supported compilers, see http://www.mathworks.com/support/compilers/R2013a/win64.html

May I know what compiler can be used in Windows 8.1 for Matlab R2013a?

Li - the link in the error message provides you with a list of compilers that are compatible with your OS and MATLAB. Have you installed Microsoft Windows SDK 7.1 (is this the SDK that you are referring to)? If so, then run the MEX setup with verbosity enabled as

 mex -v -setup

which may provide some more information on why a compiler can't be found. It could be just a missing environment variable. Paste the results to your question if the problem is not obvious.

Hello, I am having the same trouble.

I runned mex with verbosity, and it returned the the message below.

Funny thing is, I just installed microsoft visualstudio 2013 professional from this site: http://www.visualstudio.com/downloads/download-visual-studio-vs And installed it. It says that it would be compatible.

I cannot install SK7.1 on windows 8.1, I already tried and it says there are some errors on the installation process. So I'm stuck. Any other compilers for windows 8.1?

Hi guys, i'm using MEX files on Win 7: lcc (not on win 8 . . .)

 Select a compiler: 
[1] Lcc-win32 C 2.4.1 in C:\PROGRA~2\MATLAB\R2013a\sys\lcc

maybe try this one
