How well the the new HG2 graphics system work over X11?

Most of my Matlab work is done over a remote SSH session with X-windows forwarding. Will the new graphics system in 2014b still work through this kind of setup? Or will it default back to the old system?

Moreover, if the drawing system defaults back to the old one, will the new "look-and-feel" of the 2014b release be preserved?

HG2 graphic system was already functional over SSH with X-forwarding in prior Matlab release (when HG2 was not the official graphic system). My guess is that it will work with the latest Matlab release, since this is now the official graphic system.
