How to view build process log with SIMULINK in R2014a?

With the update of SIMULINK in R2014a, when I click the Build Model icon, I no longer see the build output in the MATLAB window. When I try to click "View Diagnostics" in SIMULINK, the process is blocked until the build is over. I need a better way of viewing the real-time build output log of SIMULINK. The only way I found was to use the slbuild() function in the Matlab window, but I expect the build model button to work the same.
