Where are the tabs for different files in the editor in 2011a?
이전 댓글 표시
I just jumped versions from ~R2005 to R2011a. Where have the file tabs for the editor gone?
They are there when the editor is docked in the main MATLAB window but when it's undocked (which I keep it all the time so that I can use it full screen of course) the different file tabs are nowhere to be found.

Open editor, go to menu Desktop->Document Bar->Bar Position.
It might be hidden.

I don't have R2011a so I can't try. On my R2007b, the document bar is available either docked or undocked. When docked, the 'Desktop' menu is at the MATLAB window.

Dock editor ===> Ctrl+Shift+D
undock ===> Ctrl+Shift+U
now, Please undock your editor,
then it would be easy
go to "Desktop" ===>"Document Bar" ====> "Bar Position " then you can select "Top" "Bottom" "Right" "Left" and or "hide"
if it is not appear for you , please try Ctrl+Shift"0
I hope it works

Giles's answer do help me a lot. I had been driven carzy by this problem for several hours, trying all means. If I hadn't found this answer, this would certainly trouble me for a long time.

I am not sure if I understood your question perfectly, but check it out, from toolbar , go to "Desktop" , then you can click on anything that you would like to use like workspace or anything else

you can go to "Desktop" ---> "toolbars" and click on "editor" and or customize , then you will have anything that you want while it is undocked

Thank you, I was stuck with the same problem in R2011b. It would really help if there was a setting to 'force' the use of tabs for multiple files (like the setting in IE or Firefox to control how new windows are handled).
