With the mechanical speed as input is it the asynchronous machine working as a generator?

Hi

I'm using the builtin block of the asynchronous machine insimulink which receives as input the mechanical speed from a custom block I've made which represents a turbine. As I read on the simulink documentation when we set the mechanical speed as input we force the block (asynchronous machine) to operate as a generator (which is what I want) but the speed of the asynchronous machine never gets above of the synchronous speed. Is it really working like a generator this way?
