Syntax

d = configureDictionary(keyType,valueType)

Description

d = configureDictionary(keyType,valueType) creates a dictionary with no entries that accepts keys of type keyType and values of type valueType.

Create a dictionary that is configured to accept string keys and double values.

d = configureDictionary("string","double")

d =

  dictionary (string --> double) with no entries.

Input Arguments

keyType — Key data type

string scalar | character vector

Key data type, specified as a string scalar or character vector.

valueType — Value data type

string scalar | character vector

Value data type, specified as a string scalar or character vector.

Usage notes and limitations:

• Code generation supports numeric, logical, half, character, and string data types as arguments to the configureDictionary function. You cannot use the configureDictionary function to configure dictionaries containing cells, structures, or user-defined objects.

• If you create a dictionary using configureDictionary, the dictionary cannot contain complex numbers as keys or values. To configure a dictionary that can contain complex numbers, use the dictionary function.
