Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS)
A simple way of modeling an ABS braking system. The model shows the velocity profile responses achieved for the vehicle CG and the wheels.
Aircraft Electric Environmental Control System (eECS)
Models an electric Environmental Control System (eECS) for a commercial passenger aircraft. Unlike traditional pneumatic systems that bleed hot air from the engines, this architecture uses electrically driven turbochargers to compress fresh ram air, improving engine efficiency and reducing fuel consumption. The model simulates a complete air conditioning pack including an electric turbocharger (ETC), a fuel-cooled heat exchanger, an air cycle machine (ACM), a thermal management system with primary and secondary heat exchangers, and cabin thermodynamics with passenger thermal and moisture loads. A hybrid control strategy combines open-loop feedforward commands based on the stages of the flight cycle with closed-loop PI regulation of cabin pressure, temperature, and air flow. The simulation covers a full flight cycle from ground taxi through climb, cruise, descent, and landing.
Drill-Ream Actuator
An actuator that drives a machine tool working unit performing a sequence of three technological operations: coarse drilling, fine drilling, and reaming. One of three pressure-compensated flow control valves controls the actuator speed as metering out return flow from the cylinder. Directional valves that are activated by a control unit perform the selection of an appropriate flow control.
Hydrogen Refueling Station
Models a hydrogen refueling station. Hydrogen is stored in low-pressure storage tanks at 200 bar at the station. A 3-stage intercooled compressor maintains the necessary pressure in a cascade buffer storage system so that the station is ready to dispatch hydrogen to any connected vehicles. The buffer is divided into high-pressure tanks at 950 bar, medium-pressure tanks at 650 bar, and low-pressure tanks at 450 bar. To avoid wasting compression energy, the lowest pressure buffer that is greater than the vehicle tank pressure is used to dispatch hydrogen. Priority valves switches between the different buffer tanks to control which buffer tanks to fill and discharge from.
Pressure Reducing Valve in Punching Operation
Models a hydraulic system with a direct operated, pressure reducing valve. This system helps to limit and maintain pressure in a hydraulic punching machine. Pressure reducing valves are common in hydraulic pressing, drilling, and stamping applications.
Optimize Pressure Reducing Valve Model for Real-Time Simulation
Identify simulation slowdowns, resolve performance issues, and configure a Simscape Fluids™ model for real-time simulation. This example uses the Pressure Reducing Valve In Punching Operation model, PressureReducingValveInPunchingOperation. In this example, you measure the simulation time, identify the factors that affect simulation speed, optimize the model, and prepare the model for code generation.
