Delete input of fault tree gates

Syntax

deleteInput(gate,input)

Description

deleteInput(gate,input) deletes the fault tree input, input, that enters the fault tree gate, gate.

Examples

Delete Event Input to Fault Tree Gate

Create a new fault tree document in the Safety Analysis Manager.

myTreeDoc = safetyAnalysisMgr.newDocument("fault-tree");

Add two basic events from the top-level gate.

myTopGate = myTreeDoc.Gates(1);
event1 = createEvent(myTopGate);
event2 = createEvent(myTopGate);

event1 and event2 are the only inputs to the top-level gate. Delete event1 from the top gate.

deleteInput(myTopGate,event1)

Delete Gate Input to Fault Tree Gate

Create a new fault tree document in the Safety Analysis Manager and get the FaultTree object.

myTreeDoc = safetyAnalysisMgr.newDocument("fault-tree");
myFaultTree = myTreeDoc.FaultTrees(1);

Create a tree that has two basic events from the top-level gate, and an OR gate that has two basic events.

myTopGate = myFaultTree.Gates(1);
event1 = createEvent(myTopGate);
event2 = createEvent(myTopGate);
myOtherGate = createGate(myTopGate);
event3 = createEvent(myOtherGate);
event4 = createEvent(myOtherGate);

Delete the OR gate.

deleteInput(myTopGate,myOtherGate)

The function also deletes the event3 and event4 events. Check that event3 is deleted by entering the event name in the Command Window.

Input Arguments

gate — Gate in fault tree document

Gate object

Gate in the Safety Analysis Manager fault tree document, specified as a Gate object.

input — Input to gate

Event object | Gate object | TransferGate object

Input to fault tree gate, specified as an Event, Gate, or TransferGate object. If you specify a Gate object, the function deletes the gate and its inputs.
