pre6GSymbolModulate

R2026b

Pre-6G symbol modulation

Since R2026b

    Description

    Add-On Required: This feature requires the 6G Exploration Library for 5G Toolbox add-on.

    sym = pre6GSymbolModulate(ch,cw) maps scrambled bits to complex modulation symbols for 6G research and prototyping. The function uses the modulation scheme specified by ch.

    example

    sym = pre6GSymbolModulate(___,OutputDataType=odt) additionally specifies the data type of the modulated output symbols.

    Examples

    collapse all

    Create a carrier configuration object with default parameters and a physical channel configuration object with 16-QAM modulation.

    carrier = pre6GCarrierConfig;
    ch = pre6GPhysicalChannelConfig(Modulation="16QAM");

    Generate random bits for a batch size of three and scramble them. The number of bits must be a multiple of Qm (4 for 16-QAM).

    bits = randi([0 1],480,3,"int8");
    cw = pre6GScramble(carrier,ch,bits);

    Modulate the bits to complex symbols.

    sym = pre6GSymbolModulate(ch,cw);

    Verify the output length equals the number of input bits divided by Qm.

    isequal(length(sym),length(cw)/ch.Qm)

    Input Arguments

    collapse all

    Physical channel configuration parameters, specified as a pre6GPhysicalChannelConfig object. This function uses only the Modulation, Constellation, and Qm properties of the pre6GPhysicalChannelConfig object.

    Codeword bits to modulate, specified as a real matrix of size G-by-B, where G is the codeword length and B is the batch size. G must be a multiple of Qm (the modulation order).

    Data Types: double | int8 | logical

    Output data type, specified as "single" or "double".

    Data Types: char | string

    Output Arguments

    collapse all

    Modulated symbols, returned as a complex matrix of size (G / Qm)-by-B, where G is the codeword length, Qm is the modulation order, and B is the batch size.

    Data Types: single | double
    Complex Number Support: Yes
