Halloween Analysis using Thingspeak

Halloween Analysis of Many Aspects of Halloween Headquarters and Effects on USA
(Note to Chistopher: I used a simple ESP8266 generating random numbers for fields 1 thru 7, (0 to 100, 4000, 127, 30, 45, 200,000, 50,000) and 0 to 1 for field 8. And a couple of real sensor inputs.

Could you share some more about your Salem Holloween Analysis? This looks interesting but I'm not sure what I'm looking at! 🎃

Adam, May I assume your question is about process and not content?

The process is writing data to the read api of the channel. The micro python program is on an ESP8266 Chip board in my office in NC. The program generates 8 random numbers that I write to my Thingspeak channel. You can see my program in GitHub below. I also borrow 3 or 4 data reads from other public channel, a procedure that Thingspeak gives you in their examples. Now, for display, the widgets, gages and charts can only be from the actual 8 channel fields data with no modification. But the visualizations can be generated by math programs using the examples given under visualizations. I could share my visualizations with you but I just used the examples.

Now, why? This api write taught me how to use widgets and how to change scales and colors. The visualizations taught me more about programming. And maybe, a young mind out there will get curious because of this channel and enter into programming after seeing what Thingspeak looks like.

What's the Pumpkins per neighborhood guage?

Oh....

Ok.....

gauge is a measure of how many pumpkins carved or uncarved are available to be set out on the porch before Halloween. I plan to expand this to more gauges for small and large and maybe a third gauge for pumpkins with candles or without.
