How is it possible to connect digital inputs (via BNC or DSUB cables) to a Windows PC that doesn't offer specific inputs for those cable types? Can you recommend any interfaces or adapters?

While MathWorks does not recommend any particular brand, you may use something like a microcontroller to interface between the Windows PC and the outputs from your experimental setup. It is possible to wire BNC cables to the digital I/O pins of a microcontroller and use the necessary support packages to interface with the microcontroller from the Windows PC.
