Abnormal termination in MATLAB 2018b

I sometimes run matlab with the graphical interface on a linux machine. I generally don't have any problems but today MATLAB crashed unexpectedly. The crash dump is attached below.
I compared with other crash dumps on MATLAB Answers and I notice that unlike other errors, there is no suggestion to contact MATLAB if I can reproduce this error (compare with https://se.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/338798-why-did-matlab-2016b-crash and https://se.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/428713-how-can-i-solution-matlab-crash ).
I'm unsure how to interpret the log, so I am wondering:
  1. Is there any way of determining whether this problem came from inside MATLAB, or if an external error (such as our job scheduler crashing, which happened around the same time) forced the matlab instance to terminate?
  2. Is there anything I am doing wrong that I can change to avoid getting this error again?
