How do I fix a connection error when trying to connect to Mathworks, and it has nothing to do with requiring a proxy server?

When I am trying to select an installation method for MATlab, I click "log in with a mathworks account,"(as instructed to by my university) but it just tells me that "the application could not connect to MATHworks." My Internet connection does not require a proxy server, so I do not have to change the connection settings. I have had my laptop checked for full connectivity to the various MATHworks pages and servers that are listed as required, and all of that is working fine. Any suggestions?

You can try to do setting in "Allow an app through Windows Firewall" because it might be the Firewall which blocked the internet access of your Matlab.
Click on "Change settings" and look for Matlab application, tick both "Private" and "Public". If you can't find the Matlab application, click "Allow another app..." and click "browse" to select the path to your Matlab application. Then, click "Add" and "Ok".
Don't forget to restart your computer to allow the changes to be made.
And you should be able to allow internet access to your Matlab now.

When you say select the matlab path, do you mean where the setup.exe file is? Inside the bin, Win64 folder?
