CAN properties

CAN Bus Speed (kBit/s)

Select the speed at which messages are transmitted in kilo bits per second.

Settings

Default: 500

5, 10, 20, 40, 50, 80, 100, 125, 200, 250, 500, 1000

Oscillator Frequency (MHz)

Select the oscillator frequency of the CAN network in mega hertz.

Settings

Default: 8

816

Interrupt Pin

Specify the SPI pin on the hardware to which the CAN shield is connected.

Settings

Default: 7

Allow All Messages

Select this option to allow all IDs to pass the filter. If this option is not selected, then you can select and allow only the required messages.

Settings

Default: off

Buffer 0 ID Type

Select the buffer 0 ID type as Normal or Extended.

Normal IDs are 11 bits long and Extended IDs are 29 bits long. This parameter does not appear if Allow All Messages is selected.

Settings

Default:Normal

NormalExtended

Buffer 0 Acceptance Mask (RXMO)

Specify a value for buffer 0 acceptance mask (RXMO). The mask indicates which bits in the received CAN ID will be filtered. This parameter does not appear if Allow All Messages is selected.

Settings

Default:0

For Normal buffer ID type, any positive integer between 0 and 255.

For Extended buffer ID type, any positive integer between 0 and 5.36871e+08.

Buffer 0 Acceptance Filter (RXF0)

Specify a value for buffer 0 acceptance filter (RXF0). The filter compares the received CAN ID bits with the corresponding bits in the CAN filter register. This parameter does not appear if Allow All Messages is selected.

Settings

Default:255

For Normal buffer ID type, any positive integer between 0 and 255.

For Extended buffer ID type, any positive integer between 0 and 5.36871e+08.

Buffer 0 Acceptance Filter (RXF1)

Specify a value for buffer 0 acceptance filter (RXF1). The filter compares the received CAN ID bits with the corresponding bits in the CAN filter register RXF1. This parameter does not appear if Allow All Messages is selected.

Settings

Default:255

For Normal buffer ID type, any positive integer between 0 and 255.

For Extended buffer ID type, any positive integer between 0 and 5.36871e+08.

Buffer 1 ID Type

Select the buffer 1 ID type as Normal or Extended.

Normal IDs are 11 bits long and Extended IDs are 29 bits long. This parameter does not appear if Allow All Messages is selected.

Buffer 1 Acceptance Mask (RXM1)

Specify a value for buffer 1 acceptance mask (RXM1). The mask indicates which bits in the received CAN ID will be filtered.

Settings

Default:0

For Normal buffer ID type, any positive integer between 0 and 255.

For Extended buffer ID type, any positive integer between 0 and 5.36871e+08.

Buffer 1 Acceptance Filter (RXF2)

Specify a value for buffer 1 acceptance filter (RXF2). The filter compares the received CAN ID bits with the corresponding bits in the CAN filter register RXF2. This parameter does not appear if Allow All Messages is selected.

Settings

Default:255

For Normal buffer ID type, any positive integer between 0 and 255.

For Extended buffer ID type, any positive integer between 0 and 5.36871e+08.

Buffer 1 Acceptance Filter (RXF3)

Specify a value for buffer 1 acceptance filter (RXF3). The filter compares the received CAN ID bits with the corresponding bits in the CAN filter register RXF3. This parameter does not appear if Allow All Messages is selected.

Settings

Default:255

For Normal buffer ID type, any positive integer between 0 and 255.

For Extended buffer ID type, any positive integer between 0 and 5.36871e+08.

Buffer 1 Acceptance Filter (RXF4)

Specify a value for buffer 1 acceptance filter (RXF4). The filter compares the received CAN ID bits with the corresponding bits in the CAN filter register RXF4. This parameter does not appear if Allow All Messages is selected.

Settings

Default:255

For Normal buffer ID type, any positive integer between 0 and 255.

For Extended buffer ID type, any positive integer between 0 and 5.36871e+08.

Buffer 1 Acceptance Filter (RXF5)

Specify a value for buffer 1 acceptance filter (RXF5). The filter compares the received CAN ID bits with the corresponding bits in the CAN filter register RXF5. This parameter does not appear if Allow All Messages is selected.

Settings

Default:255

For Normal buffer ID type, any positive integer between 0 and 255.

For Extended buffer ID type, any positive integer between 0 and 5.36871e+08.
